She was really eager to hear my feedback so I have high hopes about her performance this year. #goals
Just finished a horror short written and directed by Jake Miller, also starring Heather Schmidt. Can't say much about it yet, but prepare to be spooooked!
Night Witches had a sold out opening night and has been holding its own in a sea of like 300 fringe shows. We've somehow been pulling off Serial Killers too, though our next one is at 11am on Saturday. UNCHARTED SERIAL KILLERS TERRITORY HERE.
"Julia Griswold is the standout of the ensemble, bringing a nerdy and understated brand of bravery to the reluctant but smart aviator she plays." -Amy Lyons, Stage Raw
Nice Things Reviewers Have Said About PAST TIME!
"...hilariously quirky...Weber and Griswold make an endearingly mismatched duo...consistently enjoyable and an ideal date show." -L.A. Times, Critic's Choice (here, read the full review!)
"...wildly funny... The five-character ensemble are a marvel to watch under Jeremy Aldridge's smooth direction...the ensemble are a dream team...A triple threat production: great writing, great direction, great acting! Bravo!" -Broadway World
"... a brilliant play from Padraic Duffy, exquisitely directed by Jeremy Aldridge, and superbly acted by a wonderful cast...Julia Griswold as Meredith entertains us with her great comic chops...Past Time is one of those shows you just sit back and experience. Don't miss it." -Discover Hollywood
"Deeply emotional even in its whimsy, every single element of this production, every character, is perfectly crafted, staged and presented. One of the most emotionally satisfying plays you will experience this year – bar none." -Gia on the Move
"Poignant and funny...it is the magical skills of the cast, fast-paced direction by Aldridge, and often foul-mouthed but totally modern and realistic language by Duffy, that make each moment so true to life that no doubt you will see a bit of yourself in each of their emotional struggles... And who can’t use some great laughs along the way?"
-Culver City News
"The company has a hit on its hands." -Paul Myrvold's Theatre Notes
"Duffy has written a charming, hilarious, yet ultimately gentle play, his rapid-fire, idiosyncratic sense of humor a lovely match for director Jeremy Aldridge and his endearing band of actors." -Arts in L.A.
"WOW... deliciously quirky, often side-splittingly funny, ultimately heartwarming... Griswold’s delightfully deadpan Meredith grows as well...Abundant laughter and charm (plus enough heart to provoke a tear or two before it’s over), Past Time has them all... a delectable winter treat." -StageScene L.A.
I'm working on Past Time, the new Padraic Duffy play at Sacred Fools Theater, which has moved from its longtime home on Heliotrope Drive to Theater Row on Santa Monica Boulevard!
It's a beautiful story about love, loss, impermanence, friendship, and unicorns. We open February 19; directed by Jeremy Aldridge, stars Leon Russom, Ruth Silveira, French Stewart, Josh Weber, and m'self.
The Ovations Awards ceremony isn't until 11/9, but this is from the nominees' reception, where they plied us with drinks and snacks and nominee certificates and Ovation pins and a good time was had by all. Pictured: The Behavior of Broadus All-Star Band.
The Behavior of Broadus got nine (NINE!) Ovation Award nominations, including best production of a musical (intimate theatre), acting ensemble of a musical, book, lyrics, and directing. I anxiously await the awards ceremony, I'll don my finest diamonds to celebrate 99-seat theatre with m'comrades in arms.
And Serial Killers is back in session, here's me last week as a 911 dispatch officer in Tifanie McQueen's "Florida Man," directed by Ben Rock. Saturday nights at 11!
My episode of RideShare Confessions is live! Definitely not just playing me at 14, totally created a character there
I'm an actor, and I write stuff too. I do comedy. I'm short. I perform in a sketch comedy show called Serial Killers (just about) every Saturday.
